Torry Point Battery

This fort was built in the mid-19th century as a counter to the growing French military threat to Britain. The Battery was used in both World Wars and continued in use until 1956. The Battery is mostly derelict though parts are in good condition.

Torry Point Battery The painted inscription "Torry Point Battery" can just be seen above the entrance way.

Boundary marker A boundary marker "RM No. 2" can just be discerned. The photograph was taken in lousy rainy conditions with a low battery or I would have used a fill-in flash.
